The Gandhian approach to education is a holistic one, where all aspects of the individual one – social, cultural, intellectual, physical and spiritual – are cultivated in a curriculum that prepares youth for their life in the real world. His views of villages and gram swaraj has always been inspiring and still relevant. Campus 2 Community, inspired by Gandhian views on Rural villages and education are profoundly involved in the development of government schools in remote rural areas. Campus 2 Community in coordination with Art Matters and Students for development takes immense pleasure to organise ‘School Bell’, a mass service activity across the remote rural villages all over Karnataka and indulge in rejuvenating 150 government schools marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi through various activities.
What we do ?
Refurbish Govt Schools through creative artwork.
Provide necessary Library and Lab equipments
Provide necessary Sports kit and First aid Kits
Charts creating awareness about Environment, health and hygiene
Infrastructure development (Toilet, drinking water facility etc)
Increase in the enrollment ratio
Awareness into action by village community, alumnus and local bodies
A sense of responsibility and accountability among students
Able to give a message that govt schools are the epitome of our culture
Create awareness about the importance of govt schools in rural areas
The activities will include art work on the walls, providing awareness charts with regards to environment, health, cleanliness and management, library and lab equipment’s, drinking water facility, sports kit, first aid kits etc. Around 5000 volunteers from various colleges affiliated to prominent universities of the state will be part of this activity and more than 10,000 Government School Children’s will be benefitted.
